Apply to host
a sanctioned tournament

You do not need to be an APL organizer to apply. You can provide the venue and we can run the event for you. Individuals, businesses, organizations and other qualified entities may all apply.
Before you start

What you will need

Read the full sanctioned tournament requirements and regulations first. Everything below comes straight off the form, so you can gather it once and fill the form in one sitting.

Your date and start time

The day you want to run it and what time doors open.

The venue

Name and address, plus a website if it has one. Working air conditioning and heating is a requirement, not a nicety.

APL compliant tables

How many the venue has, or will have, by the time the tournament starts, and how many active competitors are near enough to fill them.

Your entry fee and payout timing

What you will charge per player, and whether you pay out on the day or within seven business days. Failing to pay out as advertised can cost you your sanctioning.
The application

Your tournament application

21 questions, most of them multiple choice. There is no save-and-return, so finish it in one sitting. You will need your event logo as a file before you start.
What happens next. An APL organizer reviews every sanctioned tournament application: the date, the venue and the tier against the sanctioned tournament requirements. You get a confirmation email as soon as you submit, and we come back to you by email with a decision or with anything else we need. Rules and requirements live on the rules page; the full calendar is on events.
